a midnight stranger
when there´s more
to say than ever,
when instincts
and cold drinks
seem to have
their own oppinion,
their own willing?

have you ever felt
the heat inside
just before a first kiss
just after an iced gin?
have you ever tasted
the sweet flavour
of unexpected,
unnoticed lips?

have you ever seen
that look in someone´s
elses deep blue eyes
that are simply praying
that promises made outside
do not matter tonight?
that we will try to forget
all about them easily
the next couple of hours?

have you ever, then,
just have the ring
of the mercy bell
inside of your head?

taken your finger
off the shinning trigger?
have you ever, then,
put your gun down
knowing you will regret

before hitting your bed?

resigned all pourposes,

then, you know for sure
that the morning after,
even though you know
that leaving the battlefield
was the right thing to do,

even then, i swear,
arises this strange feeling
that chances
are just chances,
and choices are just
half the way ahead.
but for some reason,
deep inside memories
screaming out loud
that in the very end
what you did was wrong
and there´s noting else
you can do to silence
how foolish you´ve become.
